Born in St Leonards and growing up in Willoughby, Saskia Horley is an Australian cricketer, currently playing for the Sydney Thunder in the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL).
When she's not playing cricket she attends the University of Technology Sydney studying a Bachelor of Management, majoring in Sports Business.
Saskia was first introduced to the game when you would be playing cricket with her dad in the backyard, as well as watching his games for the local club. Her junior clubs included Lindfield Cricket Club, Gordon Juniors Cricket Club, and Wakehurst Redbacks Cricket Club. and currently playing as vice-captain with the Gordon Women’s Cricket 1st Grade Team.
As for her business (Beaches Cricket Coaching), Saskia started it last year (2020) where she and my business partner (Mikaela Turik who plays for Manly 2nd Grade), saw a market for young girls cricket on the Northern Beaches. Both living on the Northern Beaches, they run private sessions, group sessions with local clubs as well as holiday cricket camps.
"The holiday camps are all about having fun and if the girls leave each day with a smile then we know we have done our job!"
