Damian Barrett was a senior sports writer at the Herald Sun and other News Limited publications for 20 years before leaving to join Crocmedia and The Footy Show in 2010.

Damian has also been part of Triple M’s football coverage for the past nine years, and for the past four years has been a columnist and host of video shows on the AFL website. 

An award-winning journalist, Damian is a two-time winner of the Alf Brown Trophy, has won the Quill Award multiple times along with many awards including the AFL Media Awards in 2012, for

Damian has also been a finalist for the prestigious Walkley Award numerous times and is highly regarded by his peers as one of the ‘Best in the Business’ when it comes to breaking stories in the AFL arena. 

Damian is an accomplished MC/host and has an easy interviewing style. He is well respected as an investigative sports journalist and isn’t afraid to ask the hard questions. His preparation is meticulous and his knowledge of the sport is immense.
