Teamwork, Motivation

Given his experience and personal journey as an AFL/VFL player and coach, Rodney Eade is an enthralling person to hear speak.

Rodney’s playing career included 4 x Premierships for the Hawthorn FC, playing in 229 games for the club. With his experience in his roles as former coach of the Sydney Swans, the Western Bulldogs, Collingwood and the Gold Coast Football Clubs over the journey, Rodney coached 377 games of AFL football and is currently coaching Balwyn in the EFL league and holding the position of Coaching Director at Scotch College.

With numerous grand final appearances as a Coach, Rodney had an outstanding coaching success with the underachieving Swans, taking a two-year break to pursue a media career and resuming his coaching career with the Bulldogs.  Rodney is able to draw on his experiences in his football and coaching career and explain how to incorporate them in your business life.

Coaches operate in a very demanding environment, managing the requirements of AFL players and ancillary staff against the desires of fans and the board, and keeping everyone focused on a common goal is a relentless task. Rodney shows how the skills he has learned in leadership, team building and motivation in football, can be successfully applied to your business by both management and staff. His enthusiasm, wisdom and self-belief leave audiences with a positive and refreshed attitude towards the challenges that lie ahead both personally and professionally.

Rodney shares his unique and innovative attitudes to team building and leadership in a relaxed, entertaining and informative way and talks about how he has learnt to cope under extreme pressure and the ups and downs of change from a player to a coach.
